Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Stitched Scraps (Basics) are a fabulous textile embellishment, ready to use for all kinds of projects. Not everyone has a sewing machine or access to a friend's basket of haberdashery scraps, so Tim has come to the rescue with an eclectic mix of stitched embellishments.
Includes 16 pieces of fabric in go-with-anything colours of cream and mushroom (tan) in designs of cross stitch, rectangles and envelope flaps. The fabrics themselves are linen or cotton (mushroom) and canvas (cream), stitched over with contrasting colours of crimson red and very dark grey (or black) in zigzag and straight stitches.
Adhere to your project with Tim Holtz Collage Medium, fabric glue, fabric adhesive tape, or sew onto your surface with handstitching or machine. Why not add some extra stitches in the form of hand embroidered flowers or leaves?
Use these fabric scraps as they are or alter them to suit your needs. Some ideas shown around the web are to distress the edges to make them tatty, apply ink to the edges, change their colour with stain or embossing glaze, smoosh in paint, or simply use them as they are. Perfect for junk journals, cardmaking, collage, scrapbooking, all kinds of art.
