Stencil Cards ... Tim Holtz Idea-Ology - 5 (five) heavyweight Kraft sheets with cut-out letters, numbers and symbols. Each is 135mm x 96mm (5 5/16" x 3 3/4").
Based upon an intermediate series of lettering stencils (we used to use these types of things in commercial art, signwriting and graphic design). of many years ago, these Stencil Cards are a fabulous way to add typography and numerals to your project in a simple manner.
Designed by Tim to use on your artwork as an embellishment. Adhere or attach the whole cards or cut them up to include them on backgrounds, greeting cards, mixed media and collage artwork, scrapbooking, off the page sculptures and display pieces, journal pages and much more. Alter them however you wish with your fave supplies including inks, paints, embossing glazes, texture pastes, embellishments and stamps.
Each card has a ruler on the right hand side (not accurate but a bit of fun), in inches with the sixteenths (1/16) marked and quarters (1/4) labelled.
The alphabets and numerals vary in size from 5/8" to 1 3/16" high.
You can also trace the shapes with a very fine pencil or pen, being careful not to press too hard into the edges because even though they're sturdy and heavyweight, they are only made of paper!
If you do wish to use them as an actual stencil, be aware that they may deteriorate over time. If you seal them with a varnish or other waterproofing medium before use, they may last longer.
All that said, art has no rules and there are no mistakes - enjoy using these wonderful stencil cards with, on or for your artwork.
