Creativity Corner ...
Bunnies and other resin models are easy to colour using Distress Paints (with a brush, sponge or smoosh with fingers), Distress Embossing Glaze (simply cover with Collage Medium and dip into the powdered glaze, leave to dry then heat to melt the glaze), or colour in with Copics, solvent markers or alcohol inks!
Above photo shows my works in progress using a few of our favourite things. My silver bunny was painted with a brush using Distress Brushed Pewter Paint then dipped in Pink Ink Designs Silver Stardust Powdered Paint. The blue bunny was painted using my fingers to dab Distress Paint Tumbled Glass, Weathered Wood and Picket Fence over each other until I was happy with the speckled effect. The blue eggs were rolled with fingers using Distress Paint Tumbled Glass and simply dropped to the little dish to dry, the golden eggs rolled using Simon Hurley Lunar Paste Gold Rush. Love the foiled effect of the gold textured paint.
Bottom trio of photos ... left is a closeup of the jars of Lunar Paste with golden eggs, a raw egg (unpainted resin) and the two embossing folder pieces. In the middle photo you can see how shiny the paste is and how you can smooth it out, just like paint. To do this I've dry embossed using Tim Holtz Texture Fades Entangled and Dotted then blended with my fingers over the raised designs using Simon Hurley Lunar Paste in both Gold Rush and Silver Lining. On the right hand side you can see a closeup of my play with the same two Lunar Pastes, scraped through the small Dylusions Stencil Fishtails using a spatula and left thick, showing its dimension and smooth texture.
The above photos feature behind the scenes moments making a card using the Tim Holtz Thinlits Bunny Stitch, Wood Slice (the alphabet), Celebrate (spirals, swirls and sparkles) on a background made using the Sizzix 3D Embossing Folder Summer Wishes inked with Distress Spray Stains and Oxide Sprays.
This is my card that Tim himself shared on his Instagram stories the other day. I was so excited when he did this! I was over the moon, bouncing about all day just like this bunny! lol :) So grateful.

A few thoughts, that todo list and other stuff ...
Tim's Free Spirit Fabrics ... As much as I'd love to stock all of Tim's fabrics as well as all his other incredible treasures, my shop isn't large enough or set up to store large quantities of fabric. Therefore it is best to check your local fabric shop and ask them to order it in, then tell us addicts in the FB group where you've found it. My Mum suggested eBay and we found a couple but not many. Outside of eBay I've found (so far), 'Somethings Country' in Kingaroy Qld, 'Fifis Fabricology' in Gold Coast Qld and 'Nay's Place' in Waikerie SA. Keep those fabulous fabric finds rolling in! Thank you everyone for helping with this epic quest :)
Darkroom Door and Other Arty Treasures ... All of Darkroom Door's wonderful texture stamps, sentiments (even the cheeky sweary Sentiments one) and much more are on my desk waiting to be added online - the sets are already there, looking awesome. I've got a huge stack of Pink Ink Designs Stamps and Stencils awaiting me to type faster too... and some amazing Sizzix Embossing Folders I found while shopping for Tim's. Did I mention Finnabair's Wax Pastes, Foil Leaf Flakes or even the large sheets of Sticky Grid Sheets? I will get there, but if you cannot find what you're looking for, simply ask me and I will help :)
Fresh boxes of arty treasures arrive every single week ... Click this link to see them all ...
Sing out if you have questions about anything arty, new releases or simply wish to chat about art (art art and more art, I have a one track mind! lol).
Hope you have a wonderful arty day and are keeping safe, staying well and doing whatever you love, whatever warms your being.
Thanks for reading my arty news!
:)
