A little bit of history about this latest collection of colourful Distress...
Its been 16 years since Tim Holtz and Ranger first developed the Distress Ink Range and it has grown to include a wide variety of useful and beautiful essential art supplies. Five years ago we met the beautiful Twisted Citron and its friends as they released 12 more colours. Time has certainly flown :)
So in May 2020, Ranger and Tim started releasing a whole new series of 12 wonderful vintage inspired colours, introducing them to us one at a time throughout 2020 and 2021, giving us time to get to know each colour in between each release.
Each live video was streamed really early on Sunday mornings here in Oz. Whether you stayed up with snacks to watch Tim TV live, set alarms to wake in time, or watched the replay, it was always amazing, entertaining, inspirational, educational and full of laughter. Such an awesome pair, Tim and Mario.
Colour no.1 ... Speckled Egg, pale shabby egg blue - announced May 2020, the first Mystery Distress Colour is a pretty shabby blue called 'Speckled Egg'. Versatile as well as beautiful, plays well with all the Distress treasures.
Colour no.2 ... Crackling Campfire - announced by Tim Holtz on 26th August 2020. There are millions of colours in a rainbow to choose from and he has chosen a gorgeous dark rustic red-orange. An interesting almost interactive colour that appears to be a rich red next to some colours, and dark orange with others! Love it.
Colour no.3 ... Rustic Wilderness, a wild dark green. Earthy and greeeeeen. I love green! Was announced 10th November 2020. Plus we got Crayons too! Set no.11 includes the first 3 colours. Yay :) I love green! You may have noticed :) lol
Colour no.4 ... Kitsch Flamingo, pretty in pink - announced 1st Feb 2021. You'll be tickled pink when you meet this beautiful bundle of joy :) Plus a set of Mini Distress Ink Pads in these first four colours.
Colour no.5 ... Salvaged Patina, such a beautiful blue-greeny colour - announced Anzac Day, April 2021. A firm favourite in all the variants!
Colour no.6 ... Prize Ribbon, a stunning mid blue, announced 17th July 2021. Winning prizes without gloating over all the other wonderful blues in Distress! Distress Crayons (set 12) in Kitsch Flamingo, Salvaged Patina and Prize Ribbon appeared in the world too :)
Colour no.7 ... Villainous Potion, a lively dark purple, October 2021. Stunning deep hues of gorgeousness. Love it!
Colour no.8 ... Saltwater Taffy, vintage peachy pink. 26th Feb 2022. This pretty colour goes with absolutely everything, including green! We were also introduced to Mini Distress Ink Pads in these recent 4 colours.
Colour no.9 ... Uncharted Mariner, a beautiful deep ocean blue. 19th June 2022. Wonderfully wild tones that inspire creativity!
Colour no.10 ... Lumberjack Plaid, a wonderful cherry red. 29th October 2022. Beautiful colour of real red that is perfect for hearts, apples, abstracts, halloween, Christmas and backgrounds, red goes with everything!
Early January, Ranger released the first 8 colours as single Mini Distress Ink Pads, Distress Crayons and for the alcohol ink range (but perfect for most mediums), Grafix Dura-Lar Clear and Dura-Bright Matte Black. Distress Crayons for set 14 are Villainous Potion, Uncharted Mariners and Saltwater Taffy, they look awesome together.
Colour no.11 ... Lost Shadow, a playful pale vintage silvery grey, announced 28th January 2023 :) A beautiful clean light grey that compliments and blends with every colour in a rainbow.
Colour no.12 ... this is the last one (for now) ... Being announced one day, sometime in the future. :) lol
After this last new reveal, we should get Distress Crayons set 13 and another set of Mini Distress Ink Pads.
