Happy February

What's been happening at Art by Jenny?

Art by Marlene 5.0 treasures have started to arrive with beautifully printed rice paper collage sheets (perfect for journals, scrapbooking and cardmaking), fabulous stencils and a very pretty pencil case - long enough for paintbrushes, rulers and even phones! Check out the "What's New!" collection for details.

Heaps has happened this month! I've written a new tutorial for creating a fun colourful artwork featuring a wobbly teapot at my craft blog, uploaded new treasures to the shop and tidied up my studio :) I finished "8 Maids a Milking" art journal page too! Only 4 to go in this swap. There's a quick how to below in the arty news' Creative Corner.

The above photo is of my art studio bookcase. My stamps from Tim are on the left, Dyan's on the right with Idea-ology foam stamps inbetween. Under this shelf are my Idea-Ology treasures in little candle holders, jam jars and a set of Kaisercraft mdf drawers I made a few moons ago :)

This teapot is from my latest art journal for the Australian Art Journal Swap of 2019. I used Darkroom Door stamps (Time for Tea), Tim Holtz's Idea-Ology Paper Dolls and Botanical Layers, my fave stencils and other arty treasures. Behind the teapot is an Action Wobble, a self-adhesive ready to use spring. The teabags are handrawn with string attached through a slot in the lid. The pretty flowers pouring out of the spout are Tim's beautiful paper flowers, Idea-Ology Bouquet.

Click this link to visit my blog for more images and see how the rest of the page was created. I hope it inspires you to have a go with fun arty crafty techniques (old and new). Why not gather your favourite layerable pieces, a kettle or teapot and make some art!

My 12 Days of Christmas, 8 Maids a Milking scene shown above, was created on plain paper. I used Distress Inks (Shabby Shutters, Iced Spruce, Peeled Paint and Festive Berries) with an ink blending tool to blend layers of colour through stencils (Tim's Pines, Feather, Poinsettia, Code) for the background.

The tree and swing is an old stamp from Stampendous, stamped then coloured over with pencils. The milkmaids were drawn (a few times!) first onto paper, then traced onto Tim Holtz Paper Stash "Wallpaper Vellum" in a black felt tipped pen. I've trimmed the paper in a curve to represent a hillside. The cow faces are printouts of my Georgiegirl the Cow avatar I drew a couple of moons ago when I joined Redbubble. I didn't take any behind the scenes for this page but you'll be fine, just have a go and enjoy being creative!
