Where has all the warm weather gone? Its near the end of May 2021 and Winter has well and truly arrived early here in little old South Australia. Even Queensland had a taste of what us southerners call "cold" - did you hear? They had golf ball sized hail stones! Well, we haven't had huge hail (yet) but the wind has been icy cold, straight from the South Pole. On a good note, we've had two days of beautiful rain! Our chooks love playing in puddles, they think they're ducks! lol :) Its freezing cold but its such fantastic weather to hang out in the art studio (with a warm heater) colouring, stamping, messing about with paints, pencils and inks! My favourite things :) Hope you're keeping well and smiling too!
Extra Extra - updated 30th May 2021 ... New Dylusions essentials arriving within a week! A wonderful mixed media journal with white, kraft (brown, tan) and black pages plus more colours in the Shimmer collections, both paints and sprays to join the other gorgeous ones in stock :)
Latest Arty News Update ... More of the beautiful Tim Holtz Distress bundle of joy, Salvaged Patina, will be back in stock in a couple of days!
Dina Wakley has released gorgeous new colours in the unique acrylic paint sprays plus we have a new kind of art journal to play in, fabulous chipboard shapes and other essentials! All are in stock too :)
Did you know a Clear Gesso is a basecoat (sealer and primer) that allows most other mediums to sit on top the paper rather than get soaked into the surface? It can also lead to using spray ink plus the colours stay true. I always thought it was about "tooth" (and never really understood that answer). Gesso is pretty handy to use when using paints or spray inks on thin pages from a dictionary or super absorbant cardstock. Apply with a brush, spatula or blending tool. Have fun!
I watched one of Dina's latest videos (YouTube) showing how she uses her Acrylic Paint Glossy Sprays - she placed a fine tipped applicator on the spray bottle and wrote with it. Its the applicator that has the pin ring on it, the same one that fits the Glossy Accents as well as most of Ranger's spray bottles including Dylusions, Distress and Oxides! They've now arrived and only $6.35 each :) How many do you need?
