Arty Crafty Moments
An art card using a playing card (for a year long challenge) and a Happy Planner journal page, both made using my favourite essentials to life - art supplies! How people survive without art is beyond me 🙃 I hope these help you smile and inspire you to delve into your stash and make more art!

Fatigue does daft things to the brain and the slightest things send it into overdrive... art to the rescue once again! Reckon my studio should be wearing a cape 😂
This soothing-to-make page is on Happy Planner paper, so while sprays and water aren't ideal, Distress Oxide ink pads blend and stamp beautifully on it. I started with Dyan's fabulous 'Fronds of Fun' large Dylusions stencil, using a blending brush and Oxide Ink Pads, Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean. Then I rummaged through my scraps thinking maybe owl and the pussycat, and came up for air with a strip of Darkroom Door abstract circles, a Dylusions fish (cut in half, it's ok, I did it quick so it didn't hurt 😂), mermaid tail (or a giant fish feed for the friends maybe) and leafy pieces (Stripey Curlicues, Oodles of Foliage), and a Tim Holtz Crazy cat and bird.
The kindly looking moon and text is from Dina's stamp set, Vintage Moon Faces. All coloured with Inktense pencils, Distress watercolour pencils, and Dylusions Shimmer Inks. The Xs are stamped from Dyan's groovy stamp set 'All in the Mind' using Lisa Horton's pretty metallic blue ink.

I love stamps and Dyan's fun set called 'Stevie Baby' is a firm favourite with this gorgeous chook! Well, they're all my favourite but some do get inky more than others 🤣
Chookie was pinked using Distress watercolour pencils, enhanced using white acrylic paint with a fine 20/0 brush (my gel pen was misbehaving), and a few pretty droplets, just because they looked pink. The background is made of Idea-ology 'Transparent Layers' pieces under a metal Idea-ology key pinked with Distress Crayon (Spun Sugar)... the messages within are Fly and You Matter. 🌻🎨🐔
This little arty piece has been made for the 2025 full deck playing cards challenge hosted by Shanouki Art, @shanoukiart 😁🎨 Each of my cards includes a key, an element from the previous card (a stamped friend) and follows the weekly prompt posted on Shana's YouTube channel. This one is 'pink with black splatter'.
I'd love to say art is an instant cure, a quick fix for crazy brain fog, but there's always another day to try again 🎨🐠 Ah, any excuse to create more art right? lol 😂
