Ledger Journal Page - Fun with Textures
Because when you stop and look around, this arty life is pretty amazing!
I've had such a lovely time in the groovy Dina Wakley MEdia Ledger Journal creating, stamping, colouring! The paper is totally awesome, its like the best qualities of Dyan Reavely's Dylusions journals and Tim's manilla and white Heavystock cardstock all melded together.
This page (shown above) was made by blending Dyan's Dylusions and Dina Wakley's acrylic paints in all my favourite colours (neon, regular, shimmer) through a few stencils and then layering texture paste, stamped imagery, collage tissue pieces, a few wings and some painted leaves.
Being Summer, it meant everything dried super fast, including the Distress texture paste. By the time I'd stamped, coloured and cut out the gorgeous deer (Dina's "Fawns"), the paste was completely dry! Paint drying is the best thing about hot weather.
The statue, sun and moon are from Dina's Antiquities collage tissue, birds from her Focals set 2 transparencies. I painted behind the bird print using Sharpie paint pens. Acrylic paint is ideal for transparencies too, it just takes longer to dry.
Wisdom is from Tim Holtz's stamp set, Life Quotes ... "creativity is seeing what everyone else has seen and thinking what noone else has thought" - "because when you stop and look around, this life is pretty amazing".
Was the best afternoon, headphones on, blending tools in hand smooshing paint! I highly recommend it.
Have a Happy arty day!
:)
