Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions Dyamond Dust are little pots of specially developed pearl pigment mica powder for use with or without the Dylusions Dyamond Rocks, mediums, boards, stamps and other art supplies.
Dyamond Dust pearl pigments are a colourful mica mixed with a resin binder which enables the powders to be used wet or dry and with inks, adhesives or water.
The two photographs are of artwork made by Jenny James featuring Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions Dyamond Dusts in various colours applied using Dylusions Dyamond Clear Medium with Dylusions Daisy Dream and Spiralicious stamps on a page in the Dylusions Large Black Dot Grid Journal. All available at Art by Jenny in Australia.
Here is a simple tutorial I found at Ranger showing how to use Perfect Pearls (which is similar to Dyamond Dust) ... https://rangerink.com/blogs/projects/perfect-pearls-using-stencils-by-kelli-cool :)
How to use Dyamond Dusts ...
- Simples! Apply Dyamond Medium (a slow drying clear ink) using the ink pad or dabber bottle to your heavyweight surface (eg, Dyamond Blocks chipboard).
- Use a soft brush to pick up the Dyamond Dust from the jar, then sprinkle it over the top of the wet medium. Leave dry for a minute. Tap off excess.
- Enjoy the shimmery effects.
Tips ...
- Colours appear differently on different coloured papers, have fun experimenting!
- Why not blend a few colours of Dyamond Dust at the same time (see my Spiralicious photo with the big blue spiral).
- Apply onto dimensional areas (made by embossing or Dyamond Rocks) to emphasize their 3D shapes.
- To help keep the Dust from rubbing off onto opposite pages, lightly apply a spray fixative (the brand Micador is easily available here in Oz).
- Add a sparkly finishing touch using Dyamond Stickles or Ranger Stickles glitter glue and leave aside to dry (10 minutes).
One jar of Dyamond Dust contains : 0.25oz (7.08gr) jar of Dyamond Dust. Jars are 1 1/4" wide x 3/4" high.
