Darkroom Door ... amazing new Stamps are on their way! I will get them all, as well as Tim's Christmas stamps and stencil sets, online this Wednesday! 

NEW! Dylusions Stencils - most exciting arty news from Dylusions by Dyan Reaveley is that we're getting 11 stencils! And even more exciting, is that they're already on their way to Australia :) Due to land in a couple of days!

What's Next with Tim? Christmas in September ... Tim is releasing new stamps, stencils, die cutting templates, colours, arty treasures in themes for Christmas and the festive season, every weekend on his YouTube channel and website! So much awesome arty goodness from Ranger, Sizzix, Idea-Ology and Stampers Anonymous :) 

Crafty Corner ... 

What have you been making today? Lately, I've soothed the frazzled mind with journaling, stamping out adorable flying critters and adding layers of collage elements, then while bits are drying (to stop me playing with them), I'd happily smoosh paint about making backgrounds for another day's play.

Hope you're enjoying time making whatever you love to create, whatever makes you smile!

My above interactive art journal page was made in a few sessions in a Dina Wakley MEdia 6"x6" size book. This journal has a wonderful brown kraft paper to create on, even though its a thick porous cardstock, its sturdy and durable for many techniques.

The flying adorables are the "Thistlehogs" stamps by Pink Ink Designs from the UK, stamped with Ranger's black Archival ink pad, coloured using Caran D'Ache Neocolour II watercolour crayons and Posca Pencils. Their wings and keys are highlighted with white Posca Pencil and splashed with glitter glue.

The backgound is blended around the stamped images using Caran D'Ache Neocolour II watercolour crayons, coloured in blue and green then blended with water and brush. Once dry, I tore up and glued on Dina Wakley Media Collage Tissue using gel matte medium. 

Next are the collage elements, like the Stamperia Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass die cuts, clear charms and paper pieces. The words "Time is on my side" is made using Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mini Marquee letters on Linen Tape. The interactivity is created using a very cool little device called an Action Wobble, a mini spring. Its attached under the pocket watch (Alice die cut) with a pair of Idea-Ology Transparent Wings to help it fly.

More spots, marks and highlights were added using Dylusions Paint Pens in white and Pure Sunshine (yellow). Extra Transparent Wings flew onto the page along with two tiny clocks with handdrawn wings. All that is left to do is play with the clock... and smile!

Hope it inspires you to have a go, make more time for art and creativity. Its a wonderful feeling :)

Latest Arty News Update - 27 August 2021 ... During August, Tim Holtz has been showcasing all his Halloween releases each Saturday (our Sunday morning), with a few extras like Wednesday's surprise video announcing the new Distress Crayons and repackaged Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder! Have you used this yet? I haven't (yet, I will now!)... Ranger has had it for years (and yes, we have some original jars in stock) but Tim asked for a larger jar because he uses it so much. I have to say, I like how it melts and doesn't distort the colours underneath and leaves a matte finish. And! The matte finish can easily have shimmer or shine added along with other colours over the top.
Idea-Ology is this weekend and then during September, we'll have a month of Christmas themed videos and demos to explore!

They're all easy to find on his YouTube channel and also his own website. Every video I've ever watched of Tim's are always educational as well as entertaining, even the long ones. Dyan Reaveley's, Rachel Greig's and Dina Wakley's are excellent too, just like in real life but different :) There are so many amazing designers and creators out there!

Tim's Sizzix treasures from the Halloween release ... sold out fast (thank you!) and will be back soon. Love these new designs, some look wicked and frightful but not everything is only for Halloween, especially the beautiful leaves, candles and witches (like holly and poinsettia, witches can fly around in art all year round). Which are your favourites?

Keep informed of Tim's new treasures by bookmarking (favouriting or leaving open in your browser) the "What's New!" and "PreOrder" categories. These are kept up to date with latest news, wishful thinking and excitable arrivals. Did you also see that Tim (and his amazing team of workers) have created an Index... this is going to be very useful indeed. I'm yet to find something to automate the emails to notify you when something is back in stock. These are all hand written (typed) by me therefore a tad slow... they're useful though, as it lets me know to order more of something and less or something else, and if they're rare I will let you know and save it for you. Everything else by this wonderful team is in abundance, waiting for you to buy, collect, use, share and enjoy!

Love the new "Any Old Elf" stamps - and all are in stock!

Ranger ... Tim's Limited Edition Halloween Collection - more of the Mica Stains are arriving inStore in less than 1 week! That's still sort of mid August :) The colours and textures in this highly sought after range of Tim Treasures look amazing! Watch their spaces or buy in advance, whichever you wish.
... Textures and Sparkles Sets (aka texture paste, grit paste, glitter and mica flakes) are sold out but I am hopeful that Ranger decide to make some more (so if they do, its just a matter of time). But until we know for sure, I have put them on the "Watch this Space" list on the PreOrder shelf.
... and if we all miss out, there's always next month's release! Can't wait :)

Looking beautiful on my shelf is the New Distress Colour (no.6) is a stunning mid blue called 'Prize Ribbon'! Collect them all and use this beautiful colour as a Distress Ink Pad, Reinker and Spray Stain, Oxide Ink Pad, Reinker and Oxide Spray, Paint, Embossing Glaze and a groovy collectible Enamel Pin. Hopefully a Distress Crayon too, one day in the future!

... Sizzix other designers have created a wide variety of die cutting and embossing patterns too. Some I've ordered, but if you see one you like, ask and I shall order them in :)

NEW! Dyan Reaveley Arty Treasures! ... Dylusions Stencils, Collage Sheets, Colouring B&W Sheets, Shimmer Paints and Shimmer Sprays are all in stock. But we need to wait a few more weeks for more of Dyan's new stamps. I'll make them available for PreOrder again shortly, when they get closer. They're fantastic designs (of course they are! lol), so well worth waiting if you've not got your's yet. Lots of fun they are :)

Tim Holtz Treasures ... Tim's latest Stamps paid a short visit with more being delivered in August sometime. Most of Tim's Sizzix designs he announced the other day in the video showing those incredible creations have started arriving with more ordered so nobody need ever miss out! The gorgeous Butterfly Impresslit will be a little while, so watch it's space or ask for one to be saved. I'll open up PreOrders for it when it gets closer.

Tim and Ranger's beautiful new blue Prize Ribbon Distress collection of treasures (anyone else think of icecream?) has arrived and set no.9 and no.10 of the Distress Enamel Pins will be here next week.

Did you see that Tim's Tonic Studio Guillotine Deckle Trimmer is finally back in stock along with quite a few other treasures that we've been waiting eons for! Stamperia has arrived today! Down the rabbit hole I go this weekend, to get it all online :) Visit the Alice collection on Saturday night (24th July). Looks awesome!

Have you seen the handy sized books by Dina Wakley? There's a white watercolour paper book with wonderful cotton paper. The latest is a Kraft Mixed Media Journal, at only 6"x6", its a perfect size for keeping in the handbag when going out or in the lounge room to stamp, draw and colour after dinner! Lately, I've been stamping the kraft brown pages with Ranger's Archival Ink, colouring with Posca Pencils, and the colours show up beautifully :) Its all good fun really, whatever we use!

All of us at 'Art by Jenny' are still safely squirrelled away in the south of the city (almost in the country we are) thank goodness, so while Australia Post is still open, we're still able to work at getting all your treasures posted to you. 

Hope you're staying safe and keeping warm. Its been wild and woolly outside all week here. I'm so grateful to have a scarf, warm jumper, lots of snuggly thick socks and a heater! Good day to be a duck I reckon :)
